Job Description: Azure / Databricks Architect

Certification:
- Microsoft Azure Certification (Mandatory)
Skills & Experience Required:
- Azure / DataBricks / AWS Architect: 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
- Strong Understanding of Azure: Expertise in various Azure services and platforms.
- OS Administration: Intermediate knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell or Python for automating tasks.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Management:
- Lead end-to-end management of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services in Azure.
- Provision and deprovision resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ensure configuration management via CICD tools (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- Security & Compliance:
- Conduct security and governance audits and ensure compliance on Azure platform.
- Address security vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to industry standards, including SOX.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to track and mitigate risks.
- Cloud & Network Management:
- Oversee the configuration of network components including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and encryption.
- Ensure proper Active Directory (AD) configuration (e.g., domains, replication, Kerberos, LDAP).
- Manage disaster recovery strategies, backup, and restore processes.
- Automation & Optimization:
- Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or Python scripts to streamline operations.
- Review current systems and propose performance optimizations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Cluster & Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee Kubernetes and Databricks clusters, managing lifecycle activities, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Consolidate and present periodic status reports to senior leadership on platform health and performance.
- Architecture & Roadmap:
- Review current cloud platform architecture and recommend third-party tools and accelerators across the Azure stack.
- Provide recommendations for scalable, sustainable re-architecture and technology landscape improvements.
- Define platform roadmaps and long-term strategy to meet business needs and mitigate risks.
- Cost & Resource Management:
- Ensure proper resource tagging for accurate chargeback and financial tracking across cloud teams.
- Proactively manage cloud resources to minimize cloud spend and optimize costs.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures on Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Extensive experience with CICD pipelines, automation, and cloud infrastructure management.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, Databricks, and managing cloud clusters.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell.
- Microsoft Azure Certification (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to interact with both technical teams and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with both Azure and AWS cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices and frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes/Databricks clusters and related tools.
