Position: SCADA Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: Contract
Job Description:
• Design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems using Rockwell Automation (e.g., FactoryTalk, RSLogix) and Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform.
• Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to meet the specific needs of the process control environment.
• Integration and Customization.
• Integrate SCADA systems with existing industrial automation systems, ensuring seamless communication between devices and systems.
• Customize dashboards, reports, and interfaces to provide real-time data visualization and control for operators and management.
• Maintenance and Optimization.
System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Monitor SCADA systems for performance and reliability, troubleshooting issues as they arise to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Optimize SCADA systems for improved performance, scalability, and security.
Upgrades and Enhancements:
• Plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements to keep the SCADA systems up-to-date with the latest technology and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain documentation for SCADA systems, including system configurations, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.

Collaboration and Support:
• Cross-Functional Collaboration.
• Work closely with process engineers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to understand process control requirements and ensure SCADA systems meet business needs.
• Provide training and support to operators and other users on the effective use of SCADA systems.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination:
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies or tools that can enhance SCADA system functionality.
• Security and Compliance.
• System Security.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect SCADA systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Ensure SCADA systems are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
• Data Integrity and Reliability:
• Ensure data integrity and reliability in the SCADA systems by implementing best practices in system configuration and maintenance.
• Regularly backup SCADA configurations and data to prevent data loss.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong experience with Rockwell Automation products (e.g., FactoryTalk, RSLogix) and Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
SCADA and Automation Tools:
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) used within the Ignition platform.
• Experience with SQL databases and their integration with SCADA systems for data storage and reporting.
