Role: Sr Cloud Network Engineer

Location: Bellevue, WA

Responsibilities:

Cloud Network Onboarding: Oversee the network onboarding process for new users and systems into cloud environments, ensuring a smooth and secure transition.
Provisioning & Configuration: Provision and configure cloud network resources, ensuring compliance with security policies and government regulations.
Secure Network Architecture: Design and implement secure network architectures, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing tables, and network access control lists across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms.
Cloud Connectivity: Configure and manage networking services such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure VPN Gateway, and transit gateways to ensure secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
Network Security Implementation: Implement network security controls, including security groups, firewalls, and web application firewalls, to prevent unauthorized access and mitigate cyber threats.
Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor network traffic, flow logs, and security logs using cloud services for activity trails and threat detection, identifying and responding to potential security incidents.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure secure integration of applications and services within the cloud network infrastructure.
Network Assessments and Audits: Conduct regular network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements.
Policy Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive network security policies, procedures, and documentation in line with industry standards.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud networking services, security features, and best practices across AWS, Azure, and other platforms.

Qualifications:

Cloud Network Onboarding & Provisioning: Experience with onboarding and provisioning networks in cloud environments.
Government Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of government network security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA).
Security Framework Familiarity: Familiar with NIST 800-171, Azure Defender, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Macie for compliance and threat detection.
Network Security Expertise: In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices for secure network design and implementation in cloud environments.
Cloud Networking Services: Hands-on experience with services such as VPCs, Direct Connect, VPN gateways, transit gateways, firewalls, and web application firewalls across AWS, Azure, and other major cloud providers.
Security Controls & Monitoring: Strong understanding of security controls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools in the cloud.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills for working with cross-functional teams and ensuring seamless collaboration.
Automation Skills: Experience with automation tools like Python and Terraform for network configuration and management.
Certifications (Preferred):
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
Azure Network Engineer Associate or similar certifications.
