Role: Network Engineer
Location – Madison, WI
Job Description:
- Cisco DNAC (Network Deployment & Management)
- Network Deployment: Experience using Cisco DNAC for network deployment, including design, provisioning, and automation.
- Network Management: Beyond monitoring, experience managing networks (e.g., configuring devices, managing policies, troubleshooting, and maintaining network health).
- Automation: Utilize Cisco DNAC for network automation (provisioning devices, enforcing policies, etc.).
- Cisco Device Replacement (EoL Devices)
- End-of-Life (EoL) Device Replacement: Experience replacing switches, routers, and client devices, and upgrading to newer models.
- Hardware Setup: Racking, stacking, and cabling tasks for deploying and integrating new devices into the network.
- LAN Configuration: Configuring VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and switch port assignments during replacement.
- Port Capacity Planning: Assessing and planning network capacity, ensuring port availability and bandwidth requirements are met.
- Basic Troubleshooting & Break-Fix Support
- Switching: Troubleshooting issues related to Cisco switches (layer 2, layer 3, and spanning tree).
- Wireless Networks: Troubleshooting Cisco wireless networks, including Meraki devices, access points, and connectivity issues.
- Field Support: Performing onsite troubleshooting for LAN and wireless issues, including diagnostics and resolution.
- Cisco Switching & Routing
- Layer 2/Layer 3 Switching: Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches, including access, distribution, and core switches.
- Routing Protocols: Understanding and configuring routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and static routing.
- Cisco Meraki Wireless
- Deployment: Experience with Cisco Meraki wireless systems, including deployment, configuration, and management through the Meraki dashboard.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving wireless connectivity issues, ensuring coverage and capacity planning for Meraki APs.
- Racking, Stacking, & Cabling
- Hands-on experience with physically installing network equipment, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Expertise in structured cabling for network deployments, ensuring proper cabling practices and standards.
Desired Additional Skills:
- Documentation: Experience documenting network configurations, topology diagrams, and deployment plans.
- Security: Familiarity with network security concepts and configuring secure network policies through Cisco DNAC.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and provide customer-facing support.

- Cisco DNAC (Cisco Digital Network Architecture Center)
- Cisco Meraki Dashboard
- Cisco Switching/Routers (Catalyst, Nexus)
