Position – SAP Performance Engineer
Duration – Longterm Contract
Location – Austin, TX – Day 1 Onsite

Essential Skills:
- Should have 12+ years of experience
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive performance monitoring solutions for all critical SAP components (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP PI/PO, SAP Solution Manager, SAP HANA database).
- Proactively monitor system performance metrics (CPU utilization, memory consumption, disk I/O, network latency, response times, throughput) using SAP Solution Manager, native SAP tools, and potentially third-party monitoring solutions.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential bottlenecks.
- Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and provide timely and effective solutions.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- Develop and implement performance tuning strategies for various SAP components, including application servers, database, operating system, and network.
- Perform SAP system health checks and performance assessments.
- Optimize SAP configuration parameters, workload distribution, and resource allocation.
- Analyze ABAP code for performance inefficiencies and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Optimize SQL queries and database design for improved performance.
- Implement caching mechanisms and other performance-enhancing techniques.
Capacity Planning and Scalability:
- Participate in capacity planning exercises to forecast future resource requirements based on business growth and usage patterns.
- Provide recommendations for system scaling and infrastructure upgrades to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Conduct performance testing and benchmarking to validate system scalability and identify potential limitations.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with SAP Basis administrators, application developers, functional consultants, and infrastructure teams to address performance-related issues.
- Communicate performance findings, recommendations, and implementation plans clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in project implementations and provide performance-related guidance and support.
- Document performance analysis, tuning procedures, and best practices.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Act as a point of escalation for complex SAP performance issues.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve performance degradation.
- Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies to diagnose and resolve root causes.
- Knowledge Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP performance best practices, tools, and technologies.
- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge base and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation related to performance management.
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and training activities.
