Job Description:
Seeking a Oracle DBA for a remote contract positions! The selected candidate will design, implement, and maintain databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Maintains database dictionaries and integrates systems through database design. Maintains and documents shell scripts and batch processes. Ensures that documentation is complete and up-to-date. Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup.
Although this position is 100% remote, we are seeking candidates that reside in the CST/EST timezones. Additionally, the shift for this position is Wednesday thru Sunday (8a or 9a EST start times).
Required Skills:
-Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree – In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
-Experience: 3 years’ Experience with Oracle is required. Seeking deep Oracle database knowledge including advanced functions and features (no GUI point and click only). Experience retrieving data to perform management and reporting duties. Oracle Performance Tuning considering a BIG PLUS.
-Oracle on Azure Cloud considered BIG PLUS
-Ability to communicate effectively with analysts, developers, tests, and project managers in both oral and written form
-Ability to work minimal supervision.
-Knowledge of structured query language (SQL) – Must have
-Unix or Ansible Scripting – Big plus
