Job Title: System Hardware Board Design Engineer
 
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (On-Site)

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced System Hardware Board Design Engineer to join our client, Amazon.com, Inc., in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-speed board design, SoC/DDR architecture, and multilayer PCB development. This role requires a hands-on engineer who can independently translate product requirements into detailed electronic designs, perform failure analysis, and support the end-to-end hardware development cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-speed digital systems including SoC/DDR and various high-speed interfaces.
  • Create schematics, block diagrams, and functional hardware designs based on product requirements.
  • Design and validate high-speed interfaces such as DDR, DSI, CSI, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and DisplayPort (DP).
  • Work hands-on with ECAD tools like OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro for schematic capture and PCB layout review.
  • Deliver complex EE system designs with multilayer PCB stack-ups.
  • Perform design reviews, debug hardware issues, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Layout, Firmware, and Validation) to ensure successful product development and launch.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 8–10 years of experience in hardware/system board design.
  • Expertise in SoC/DDR system architecture and board-level memory design.
  • Solid experience with high-speed interface designs (DDR, DSI, CSI, HDMI, USB, Ethernet, DP).
  • Strong proficiency with ECAD tools such as OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro.
  • Experience in delivering complex multilayer PCB designs from concept to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership of design cycles.
  • Experience with failure analysis and debugging tools, and the ability to identify and fix issues at the hardware level.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in consumer electronicsembedded systems, or IoT devices.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity and power integrity analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
