We're supporting our medical insurance client, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) in Chicago, IL. BCBSA provides national account healthcare access to large corporations in addition to the U.S. federal government including the Dept. of Defense (DoD).
There is no government clearance needed for this role.
BCBSA is seeking a remote QA Analyst with a (preferable) healthcare industry background along with 5+ years’ experience performing backend SQL automated scripts in Selenium and hands-on experience in Ab-Initio Test Data Management Tool performing test analysis with large data sets. We’re seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong background developing testing strategies and test plans in SQL, including functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, deployment testing , ETL job execution (Control-M/Control Center) testing, and performing error-handling testing projects. Our client BCBSA needs an Analyst with knowledge in SQL, UNIX, Control-M, Control Center, Ab-Initio ETL and Ab-Initio P-Sets work. The objective of the Quality Assurance Analyst role is to enhance BCBSA’s internal reporting systems for efficient auditing of insurance claims toward external web-based and mobile application users. BCBSA requires the weekly hybrid schedule of two days on-site and three days remote. This is a fully remote two-month contract (w/ possible extension) starting October 7, 2024!!
Remark: The two-step interview process (on two separate days) begins with a regular phone call from BCBSA’s HR Dept., then you would perform a final MS Teams video interview with BCBSA’s Development and Project Management Teams.
An offer letter is anticipated by September 30 to start the remote position on October 7, 2024.

Job Description:
Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases and scripts, test case automation and test execution. Documents all problems.
Individuals in this role will be experienced in building test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking and reporting for data warehousing and reporting capabilities. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet all the target dates and expectations.
Qualified candidates will be able to:
- Define approach to validating capabilities.
- Develop testing strategies and test plans, including functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, deployment testing , ETL job execution (Control-M/Control Center)testing, and error handling testing.
- Work with business to understand the requirements.
- Work with operations team to coordinate the build deployment and execution within the test environment.
- Track Defects and report on testing progress and results.
- Demonstrate advanced SQL, UNIX, Control-M, Control Center and ETL (Ab Initio) skills.
- Ability to understand the code base by looking at Ab-Initio P-Sets, graphs(.MP) & XFR’s.
- Has required skills to mock-up and upload test data using Ab Initio Test Data Management tool (TDM).
Deliverable: Test Strategy, Test Plan, Traceability Matrix, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Results, Test Defects, and Build Assessment documentation
