Role: Sr Technical Project Manager (Utility Industry)

Location: Monterey Park, CA (hybrid) (Local Candidate only)

Note: Candidate must have Experience with Utility Industry.

 MUST HAVES: 

• Ability to work on-site in Monterey Park, CA, three days per week.
• 10+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, with a focus on back-end application development projects.
• Experience managing multiple end-to-end projects from start to finish from budget all the way to implementation
• Extensive experience working in the utility industry, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and requirements.
• Strong background in managing SAP and AWS projects, with the ability to understand and guide technical teams.
• Experience with Project Management tools such as: Jira, Confluence, MS Project etc.
• Proven track record in managing project budgets, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
• Expert level understanding of Agile methodology 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

PLUSES:

• PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certifications.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, AWS cloud services, and related technologies.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Day-to-Day:
– Lead daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives for the development team.
– Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to ensure that requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
– Monitor project timelines and ensure that deliverables are met according to the agreed-upon schedule.
– Report regularly to senior management on project status, including any potential risks or issues that may arise.
– Manage vendor relationships and ensure that third-party contributions are delivered according to contract terms.
– Review and approve project documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, and test plans.

Other Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and oversee application development projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
– Manage projects specifically related to SAP and AWS, ensuring that all technical aspects are executed efficiently and effectively.
– Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated appropriately and project costs are controlled.
– Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and external vendors. Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
– Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure project milestones are met.
– Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
