Maryland Department of Health is seeking a seasoned, highly skilled Senior Lead Data Modeler, who will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
1. Data Modeling:
$B!|(B Design and implement robust, scalable data models to support application development, analytics and business intelligence initiatives
$B!|(B Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business processes and information needs.
$B!|(B Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and data flow diagrams
$B!|(B Have hands-on experience on Erwin data modeling tools
$B!|(B Ability to manage the change process through Bitbucket for modeling changes (RDBMS and NOSQL DB)
$B!|(B Develop database solutions by designing structures that represent business requirements and support system performance and scalability.
$B!|(B Analyze business requirements and translate them into data models, ensuring they are aligned with business goals and data governance standards
$B!|(B Provide support for the dev teams to present and write the business rule based queries
$B!|(B Validate data models and ensure their consistency, accuracy, and reliability through testing and validation processes.
$B!|(B Implement best practices for data Modeling and Management within AWS Data sources to optimize storage and computing costs.
1. Ensure all data modeling aligns with ETL Design & Integration:
$B!|(B Has a good understanding of the ETL frameworks that rely on the data models.
$B!|(B Hands-on experience in performing data analysis through JSON & Parquet file.
$B!|(B Ability to work the data models to be in sync with the ETL development process.
$B!|(B Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and implement solutions to meet business needs.
2. Performance Optimization:
$B!|(B Monitor, tune, and manage database performance to ensure efficient data loads and queries.
2. Security and Compliance:
$B!|(B Ensure all data practices comply with regulatory requirements and department policies.
$B!|(B Implement and maintain security measures to protect data within AWS services.
$B!|(B Hands-on experience in setting up data masking processes using tools and industry standard methods.
2. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
$B!|(B Lead and mentor junior data engineers and team members on Data usage best practices and technical challenges.
$B!|(B Collaborate with UI/API team, business analysts, and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
$B!|(B Ability to manage tasks in Jira that are assigned to them and work with a team to track the work according to deliverables
