Description:

The cloud executive plays an essential role in developing and communicating a holistic cloud strategy. The role will have involvement with leadership and will be involved in making any decisions, pertaining to cloud-based initiatives including migration, cost and performance optimization, helping the IT organization make a cultural shift to the cloud, and developing a training plan for the impacted teammates.

The cloud executive will develop a technology plan that defines the cloud vision, steps to enact that vision, an estimated financial projection which will include a proposed budget and the resources that will be needed to make cloud adoption successful. The cloud executive will work with other members of IAS Tech & Ops leadership to ensure the plan aligns with the strategic Tech & Ops direction and will also work with other members of IAS Executive leadership to ensure that the cloud strategy and plan supports the needs of the innovation, data science, application, and development divisions.

The cloud executive’s responsibilities include:

  • Development of a comprehensive cloud strategy
  • Defining a framework for enterprise hosting decisions
  • Reporting progress to other executive stakeholders both within and outside of IAS
  • Championing all things related to the cloud
  • Creating KPI’s and measuring success
  • Drafting new team members
  • Training employees on working in the cloud
  • Assessing training and hiring needs

Some key requirements:

  • Program Management certification (PMP or equivalent) and Agile, SCRUM experience (required)
  • Experience in developing new and maturing existing programs
  • Experienced in agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies
  • Excellent communications (written/verbal), and organizational skills
  • Experience pulling together cross-functional teams to deliver on key business outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making, but the ability to make reasoned decisions in the face of uncertainty or imperfect data
  • As roles and responsibilities continue to evolve in response to digital transformation and other cloud-based initiatives, the cloud executive can be a integral team member which liaises between Executive leadership and more tactical teams, ensuring alignment between overall business goals and day-to-day cloud practices.
