Here are the Requirement for the below position !! 

Job Title : SQL Server Architect ( Azure Cloud Experience ) 

Experience :  10 to 15 years 

Location : (Chevy Chase ,MD 20825) and ( Ashburn ,VA 20146) Remote (With Ocassional Travel)

Work Authorization : GC AND USC and H1B 

Tax Term : C2H 

Tier : Working With IP 

Work Mode: Remote, Client may ask to come onsite for a week or two based on work requirement and travel expenses will be paid.

Full-time candidates will be given first preference. If you find any contractors, we may consider hiring them after a few months. Please confirm whether the candidate is comfortable with a contract-to-hire arrangement. If the candidate agrees to contract-to-hire, this clause will be mentioned in the Statement of Work (SOW), and in such a case, the non-solicitation clause will not be applicable.

Kindly confirm with the candidate regarding their preference for contract-to-hire, or alternatively, submit your W2 candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable SQL database architectures in Azure.
  • Lead the migration of on-premise databases to Azure, including performance optimization and seamless data transfer.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and cloud teams to integrate SQL databases with other cloud services, applications, and systems.
  • Implement and manage SQL Server databases (including SQL Server 2019/2022) on Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
  • Optimize query performance and troubleshoot database issues, implementing best practices for performance tuning and high availability.
  • Define and implement data security policies and strategies, including data encryption, access controls, and disaster recovery plans in an Azure environment.
  • Perform regular database backups, restores, and manage disaster recovery plans in Azure to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Provide expert guidance on SQL architecture, including scalability, data modeling, and cloud cost management strategies.
  • Conduct code reviews, database design reviews, and mentoring for junior team members.
  • Stay current with evolving Azure technologies and best practices to ensure innovative and efficient solutions.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL database architecture, with at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud environments.
  • Expertise in SQL Server technologies, including SQL Server 2019/2022, T-SQL, database performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Strong understanding of Azure security features and best practices (e.g., Azure Active Directory, role-based access control, encryption).
  • Experience in designing and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions in Azure.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and DevOps tools in the context of Azure (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Azure DevOps).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, resolve, and manage SQL database issues in a cloud-based environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Database Administrator Associate certification.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies and tools within Azure.

Familiarity with PowerShell scripting or automation tools for Azure.
