Job Title: Snowflake Data Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA (5 Days Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Data Engineer with extensive experience in Snowflake data migration, SQL, Python, and DBT. The ideal candidate will lead technical projects, provide mentorship, and drive successful data migration from DB2 to Snowflake. This role requires expertise in cloud data warehousing, ETL pipeline development, and query optimization within AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Snowflake Data Engineering & Migration:

Lead and implement Snowflake data migration, preferably DB2 to Snowflake.

Perform schema migration (Indexes, Constraints, Stored Procedures).
-
Manage historical data loads and data warehousing strategies.
-
Optimize query performance, scalability, and archival strategies.
2. Data Pipeline Development & ETL:
-
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, AWS Glue.

Develop data transformation and modeling using DBT (Data Build Tool).
-
Ensure CI/CD automation of data workflows and orchestration.
3. Cloud & Infrastructure Operations:
-
Manage Snowflake cloud operations and integration with AWS services.
-
Implement identity and access management features for data security.
4. Testing & Data Validation:
-
Maintain a testing tracker to compare DB2 and Snowflake datasets.
-
Collaborate with Business/Tech SMEs to write and validate test cases.
-
Facilitate user-level testing and performance validation.
5. Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
-
Guide and mentor team members on Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and Python best practices.

Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud data warehousing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in Snowflake, SQL, and data migration.

Proficiency in Snowflake SQL, SnowProc, and query optimization.
-
Strong understanding of data migration techniques and cloud operations.

Experience with AWS cloud platform and ETL tools (Informatica/Ab Initio).

Expertise in building ETL pipelines using Python, Spark, and AWS Glue.

Strong data modeling, warehousing, and orchestration experience.

Hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation and modeling.

Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications in Snowflake, AWS, DBT, SQL, or Python.

Experience in financial/banking domain data migration.

Exposure to performance testing and data validation methodologies
