Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior UX Designer to lead UX discovery, design, workflow, and usability testing for our surgical navigation and data products. The ideal candidate will have a background in user research, UX design, and an understanding of software development, with experience in medical products and hardware/software integration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights on user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
  • Develop and maintain user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to inform design strategies.
  • Translate research into presentations, wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement user-centered design.
  • Design workflows and interactions to deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Utilize and contribute to the Design System to ensure consistency across products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX and medical device design.
  • Streamline workflows to enhance user satisfaction and productivity.
  • Optimize complex processes to reduce cognitive load and minimize errors.
  • Measure design impact on user efficiency and experience outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor”s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in UX design and user research with a proven track record in product delivery and user experience improvement.
  • Proficiency in conducting user research, usability testing, and journey mapping.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software integration and associated design challenges.
  • Skilled in design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma and Miro.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, translating complex data into design insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing stakeholders.
  • Understanding of software development processes and experience working with development teams.
  • Expertise in interaction design and user-centered design principles.
  • Experience in medical products, ideally including IEC 62366-1, FDA Human Factors Guidance, and IEC 62304 standards.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, government, automotive, aviation).
  • Familiarity with design systems and maintaining consistency across products.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards in medical device design.
  • Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
  • Background in designing for 3D applications or 3D modeling.
