Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior UX Designer to lead UX discovery, design, workflow, and usability testing for our surgical navigation and data products. The ideal candidate will have a background in user research, UX design, and an understanding of software development, with experience in medical products and hardware/software integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights on user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
- Develop and maintain user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to inform design strategies.
- Translate research into presentations, wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement user-centered design.
- Design workflows and interactions to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Utilize and contribute to the Design System to ensure consistency across products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX and medical device design.
- Streamline workflows to enhance user satisfaction and productivity.
- Optimize complex processes to reduce cognitive load and minimize errors.
- Measure design impact on user efficiency and experience outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor”s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in UX design and user research with a proven track record in product delivery and user experience improvement.
- Proficiency in conducting user research, usability testing, and journey mapping.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration and associated design challenges.
- Skilled in design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma and Miro.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, translating complex data into design insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing stakeholders.
- Understanding of software development processes and experience working with development teams.
- Expertise in interaction design and user-centered design principles.
- Experience in medical products, ideally including IEC 62366-1, FDA Human Factors Guidance, and IEC 62304 standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, government, automotive, aviation).
- Familiarity with design systems and maintaining consistency across products.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards in medical device design.
- Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
