Job Description:-
NiSource is seeking a lead IT Analyst focused in the Telecom domain whose primary responsibility is to manage telecom financials, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost optimization. This role will ensure financial accuracy by reconciling transactions, reviewing expenses, and submitting accruals at month-end. The analyst will work closely with our Telecom Expense Management (TEM) provider Tangoe, external vendors, collaborate with managed network services provider, and internal IT teams for monitoring and managing steady state operations.
Responsibilities:
Manage Telecom Financials:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost optimization to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency
- Reconcile transactions, review expenses, and submit accruals at month-end to maintain accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making related to telecom investments and operational expenditures
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track telecom spending, trends, and cost allocation across the organization
Vendor and Provider Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) provider, Tangoe, external vendors, and managed network services providers
- Ensure cost-effective operations and proper expense management with TEM provider Tangoe
- Collaborate with managed network services providers and internal IT teams to monitor and manage steady-state telecom operations
- Act as a key liaison between finance, IT, and vendor management teams to streamline telecom expense processes and optimize service delivery
Compliance and Process Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures while driving cost-saving initiatives
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within telecom financial management
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, telecom contracts, and industry best practices
- Support internal audits and financial reconciliation efforts to maintain transparency and accountability in telecom spending
Requirements
- Experience with Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solutions such as Tangoe
- Experience managing wired and wireless telecom expenses
- Knowledge of data and voice networks, including telephony infrastructure and network terminology
- Ability to work effectively in an outsourced IT environment and manage service providers
- Experience managing technology costs and optimizing telecom expenses
- Strong analytical abilities, including process analysis, problem-solving, and development
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices such as ITIL, Six Sigma, or LEAN
- Knowledge of ITSM and project management principles
- Understanding of industry-specific regulatory requirements (SOX, state, and federal compliance)
- Experience working with legacy and modern computing architectures
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Visio
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams
Nice to Have
- Experience with ServiceNow for ITSM and workflow automation
- ITIL certification preferred
- Ability to create clear and professional documentation and presentations
- Conflict resolution skills to manage group dynamics and facilitate solutions
