Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quest Active Directory Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and ensuring the optimal performance of our Active Directory (AD) environment using Quest software tools. This role requires a deep understanding of AD principles, Quest management tools, and a proactive approach to system security and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  *Active Directory Management: Oversee the administration and maintenance of the company’s AD environment to ensure reliability, integrity, and efficiency. Manage AD project implementations and migrations.

  *Quest Software Utilization: Expertly utilize Quest tools such as Quest Active Roles, Recovery Manager, and Migration Manager to enhance AD environment capabilities, ensure data recovery, and facilitate migrations.

  *Migration Projects:

   *Plan and execute AD migrations, consolidations, and restructuring using Quest Migration Manager.

*Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity during migrations.

  *System Security: Implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information. Identify and define system security requirements and controls.

  *Troubleshooting and Support: Provide high-level technical support for AD-related issues. Troubleshoot complex problems and implement solutions that minimize impact on the organization.

  *Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyze system performance against defined metrics and respond with appropriate and timely enhancements.

  *Documentation and Compliance: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation regarding configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  *Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to automate AD tasks and improve efficiency.

  *Team Collaboration and Leadership: Mentor junior staff and collaborate with other IT team members to ensure knowledge sharing and effective problem resolution. Participate in strategic planning sessions with IT leadership to improve system capabilities.

Key Quest Tools

*Quest Active Roles:

 *Provides automation for user and group management, delegation, and policy enforcement.

  *Quest Migration Manager:

   *Facilitates AD and Exchange migrations, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal impact.

  *Quest Change Auditor:

   Monitors and audits changes in the AD environment, providing real-time alerts and compliance reporting.

  *Quest One Identity Manager:

      *Manages user identities, entitlements, and security across the enterprise.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  *Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  *Minimum of 7 years of experience in Active Directory administration, including extensive use of Quest AD management tools.

  *Strong understanding of network infrastructure, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and other network protocols.

  *Experience with AD security protocols, compliance requirements, and best practices.

  *Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation and configuration.

  *Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  *Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and user support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  *Certifications in Microsoft technologies (MCSE, MCSA) or specific Quest certifications.

  *Experience in managing large-scale AD deployments and migrations.
