Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end design, architecture, and development of Java-based microservices for streaming or digital experience platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Disney’s engineering, product, and design teams to align on feature development, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability across a high-traffic user base.
• Implement and guide teams on best practices in CI/CD, observability, security, and testing.
• Mentor a team of engineers, provide code reviews, and drive continuous improvement.

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, and RESTful API design
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design (DDD)
• Experience working with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront) or equivalent cloud platforms
• Experience with GraphQL or gRPC
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh tools (e.g., Istio or Linkerd)
• Proficient in NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra) and SQL databases
• Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML)
• Familiarity with content delivery networks (CDNs) and video streaming systems is a strong plus
• Knowledge of Disney's technology ecosystem, such as Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or internal tooling
