Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Engineer to join our dynamic software engineering team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement complex software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are scalable, efficient, and high-performing. You will be expected to provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall system architecture and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Development: Design, code, and test high-quality software applications across multiple platforms, ensuring functionality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • System Architecture: Work closely with the engineering leadership team to design and implement system architecture that meets the long-term needs of the business.
  • Code Reviews & Mentorship: Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers to promote code quality and development best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements, estimate timelines, and deliver high-impact projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the evolution of the software development lifecycle, focusing on automation, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in both production and non-production environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Take ownership of large-scale software projects, guiding teams from concept through deployment while making critical technical decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software development, including hands-on experience with full-stack development.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript (Node.js, React).
    • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architectures.
    • Strong understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and experience in designing scalable database solutions.
    • Expertise in DevOps practices, including experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
    • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Knowledge of API development (RESTful and GraphQL).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and debug distributed applications efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks or AI-powered applications.
  • Experience with serverless computing.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices for application development.
