Support Work: Support what we build. No operational support team. It’s all one team. Plenty of project work for next couple of years. Everyone chips in and does some support work every day. Combination of support and project. Idoc maintenance cleaning up. Issues with delivery, clear the error in the idoc. Pricing issue on a PO that needs to get cleaned up.
Projects: supply chain projects. How we manage inventory in the stores. May be assigned to that. Working on S4 road map and a ton of work in that space over the next couple of years. Heavy supply chain but also a lot of merch work as well. Working on article characteristics.
Sr Applications Analyst, SAP Supply Chain
The Sr Application Analyst is responsible to manage and execute the entire lifecycle of a product from strategic planning to tactical activities. This role is expected to possess and demonstrate a deep understanding of both business operations and corresponding processes and capabilities within SAP. In this position, you will identify, define, analyze, prioritize, and refine the requirements, and work with cross functional IT and business teams to deliver the final product. The role will work directly with our various internal and external stakeholders – business partners, IT teams and external vendors – to ensure successful translation of those requirements into solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement business driven requirements based on the given standards and oversee testing for the implemented functionalities and the support of the system test phase.
- Understands the principles of application systems development and use them to analyze, test, implement, maintain, and document projects.
- Follows accepted incident management processes while addressing stakeholder support issues.
- Creates business and functional design specifications. Identifies gaps between solution design and application capabilities and determines alternatives.
- Work closely with the Manager or Project Lead and the Development team to ensure solution meets business needs.
- Ensures detailed technical requirements are captured from appropriate IT teams.
- Create and execute test plans, cases, and scripts. Identify defects and work to a resolution with the Developers and business teams.
JOB COMPLEXITY:
- Technical Depth/Breadth – Possesses broad technical knowledge of many technologies and an in-depth knowledge of SAP ECC & S4 ERP especially Supply Chain processes for Retail Industry. Rapidly learns and operates new technologies. Possesses effective design/analytical skills, and applies these to technical decisions on emerging technologies. Understands architectural issues and factors them into decisions and recommendations.
- Business Knowledge – Requires an in-depth understanding of products, services, and business processes. Must possess thorough understanding of the businesses supported. Understands client requirements, present and future, and their impact on the technical direction of the PetSmart solution.
- Project Delivery – Assists and supports project scoping and analysis. Work effectively with internal/external team members.
- Support—Ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with stakeholders during the issue resolution process while adhering to all proscribed incident resolution processes.
- Customer Focus – Work with business partners to analyze issues on a proactive basis and identify options to address the issue.
- Decision Making – Able to work independently with limited work direction. May determine the direction work should take, following generally accepted guidelines. Assesses different options and recommends an approach following established methodologies.
- Communication Skills – Communicates confidently and has active listening skills. Exchanges information effectively with business and IT partners. Can produce complete components of project plans. Must be able to deliver process and technical presentations to variety of audience levels and using a variety of mediums. Must be able to translate technical language into meaningful messages to business leadership and end users.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree – Math, Science, Finance, Supply Chain or Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in analyzing, designing, configuring, and implementing SAP applications including integration with other systems.
- Experience with Goods Receipts, Goods movements and other physical inventory processes at stores and distribution centers.
- Experience with SAP ERP System. Experience with SAP IS-Retail is preferred.
- Experience working with Article, Site, Customer, Vendor, and other Retail master data.
- Experience with Retail Pricing and Promotions. Experience with integration with Point of Sale (POS) Applications is preferred.
- CAR Inventory experience preferred.
- Must have expertise in role-relevant SAP Supply Chain modules/Scope IDs – processes and configuration
- Analytical approach to problem solving and solution development.
- Ability to design and implement complex solutions
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Good presentation skills with experience conducting workshops to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Customer service orientation and ability to follow through to resolution.
