IN THIS ROLE:
- Seeking a BI Analyst/Developer to work for us supporting The Port of Long Beach (POLB) client. Assignment will last 6+ months, (3 days on-site and 2 days remote per week). Open only to US citizens or green card holders; no sponsored candidates.
SKILLS:
1. Analytic skills a must to understand business processes, financial calculations, capacity/demand forecasting, data flows, host systems.
2. Experience working with multiple data analysis, reporting tools and technologies, and BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
3. Strong skills with the Microsoft Office product suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
4. Ability to download information in SQL DB and generate reports using Power BI or Tableau from a training tool utilized for periodic cybersecurity awareness campaigns.
5. Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience required.
2. 3+ years business intelligence development.
3. 3+ Microsoft Power BI experience (SharePoint 2019, PBIRS/SSRS, Excel 2019/2021).
4. 3+ years working with the project management lifecycle or software development lifecycle.
5. 3+ years working with warehousing methodologies/designs and processes (ETL, Data Modeling).
6. 3+ years of experience working with VBA programming in Excel and Access.
7. Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries and use of Microsoft SQL Server 2017/2019/2022 database tables and connectivity.
8. Experience with other BI tools such as PBIRS, SSRS, SSAS and Tableau.
