“2nd Screen with Saroj Regmi
Approved to proceed – really like him!
The req has yet to be released in Portal and now the HM is out of town. Let’s hold off on running the submission because I won’t be able to flip until it’s posted. I informed the candidate we likely won’t hear back until the week of the 26th so he is aware.

- 10+ years of experience
- Sr PHP dev
- Laravel and Symfony experience predominately
- Angular on the front end – designing several projects
- MySQL database as of late – improving speed, performance, and scalability
- Cloud – deploying apps across Azure and AWS – they use this to ensure high availability and to ensure security in enterprise applications
- Preforming deployments of apps through CI/CD pipelines
- Works in Agile environment
- Spending equal time across the front and back ends
- The project is still ongoing, it will be coming to an end next month
- Can submit a 2 week notice
- His current team is 8 people large, one is a PM and one is a BA, 2 QAs and 1 Sr Developer, and 3 junior Developers”
Regarding your text:
Omkar – I think overall it was the lack of professionalism + not as many years of experience.
Vignesh – I think he was close to hitting the mark! Especially with comm/professionalism. However, I think it was the combination of his most recent role being more data engineering + no Angular + not as well versed in security.
I think overall I would suggest focusing on:
- More years of experience (even at a higher rate) like Saroj
- Ideally Angular, but if their strong in React that’s okay too!
- Enterprise level support (the bigger the company the better)
- Security – ideally coming from a heavily regulated industry (i.e. financial, government, insurance, healthcare, etc.)
Feedback of Vignesh-
- Vignesh has great comm skills!
- At AARP
This is more of a data engineering focused project
Heavy backend
Said he doesnt really interact with the front end at all
Also supports a microservices based application (not listed on his resume) with Java and Springboot
- At Trimble
He created RESTful APIs through Laravel
Had some exposure to the React framework during this project
Said he is pretty solid on the backend, about 70-80% and then 20-30% on the front end Has familiarity of AWS services and has worked with both SQL and noSQL databased
- Has exposure to Angular through his own personal experiences, but none at production-level
- Discussed security and how he implements this into his development practices and he told he that he doesnt have any experience with security modules not really a focus of his
- Nice candidate but probably not the best fit for what LexisNexis Risk Solutions team is looking for!
Feedback of Omkar-
Recommended we do not proceed with submission
- Candidate took the call from his phone camera in Home Depot as he walked around and shopped.
- Discussed his experience with PHP and Laravel, and he told me he only has about 3-4 months of focused experience
- Has supported enterprise environments, but indirectly.
- Current project is with TT Technologies, and he is transitioning a SPA to microservices
- 60% backend and 40% front end
- Overall, I would say the candidate is too junior and I didn’t appreciate his lack of professionalism
