Position: QA Manual Tester

Location: Minneapolis, MN – Onsite

Duration: 12 months Contract

Client: TCS

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual testing of backend systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate backend data.
• Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and other stakeholders in Agile teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA.
• Perform some level of UI testing as required, ensuring end-to-end validation of features.
• Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on requirements.
• Ensure complete coverage of testing scenarios including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Contribute to test strategy and continuous improvements in QA processes.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in QA/testing roles.
• Strong manual testing skills with a solid understanding of all testing concepts and methodologies.
• Excellent SQL skills must be able to write and analyze complex queries independently.
• Experience testing backend applications, APIs, and data flows.
• Working knowledge of JIRA and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Some experience with UI testing.
• Clear understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.

Good to Have:

• Experience with automation testing tools like Selenium, Postman, or similar.
• Exposure to CI/CD environments and basic understanding of DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related discipline
