Job Responsibilities:
As a Power BI Developer with Financial Reporting Experience, you will be instrumental in translating complex financial data into actionable insights and reports. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with finance and business teams to understand intricate financial data requirements and reporting needs.
- Designing and developing advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations focused on financial analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Creating and optimizing data models to enable efficient querying and reporting on large financial datasets.
- Integrating data from diverse financial systems and sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Implementing advanced DAX calculations to derive key financial metrics and KPIs.
- Ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and data security protocols.
- Developing and maintaining executive-level financial dashboards that provide real-time insights to stakeholders.
- Assisting in data governance and data quality initiatives to maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Providing training and support to finance teams in effectively using Power BI for financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer with a strong focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing complex financial reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop.
- In-depth knowledge of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial ratios.
- Strong experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and working with financial data structures.
- Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating sophisticated financial calculations and measures.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and compliance requirements.
- Experience integrating data from financial systems such as ERP, CRM, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with finance teams and gather reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are advantageous.
- Knowledge of SQL and other programming languages is a plus.
