Job Title: Palo Alto Firewall Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Palo Alto Firewall Engineer with Cisco Networking expertise to join our IT team. This individual will play a critical role in managing and securing our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Palo Alto firewall configurations and Cisco networking, ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of our network systems. You will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing both firewall and networking devices to safeguard our organization's digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Palo Alto Firewall Management:

·       Design, implement, and maintain Palo Alto firewall solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.

·       Configure and manage security policies, NAT (Network Address Translation), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and routing protocols on Palo Alto devices.

·       Monitor firewall traffic, logs, and system health to proactively identify and resolve network security issues.

·       Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, applying patches and updates to ensure system security.

·       Create and manage security zones, virtual routers, and security profiles to protect network traffic from external threats.

·       Provide expertise in firewall policy optimization to balance security needs and performance.

Cisco Networking:

·       Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco networking devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

·       Implement VLANs, subnetting, and routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, ensuring effective traffic management.

·       Design and implement IP addressing schemes that enhance network efficiency and scalability.

·       Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and load balancing across Cisco-based network infrastructure.

·       Monitor and configure network performance tools to ensure the optimal operation of all network systems.

·       Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.

·       Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex network security and connectivity issues.

·       Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

·       Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for documenting configurations, collaborating with team members, and interacting with stakeholders.

·       Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and best practices in network security and infrastructure management.

·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Qualifications:

·       Proven experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls.

·       Strong understanding of Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

·       Hands-on experience with network routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and IP addressing.

·       Familiarity with VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL, site-to-site, remote access).

·       Experience with network monitoring tools for performance and health monitoring.

·       Industry certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are highly preferred.

·       Solid understanding of network security best practices and industry standards.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus.
