Database Development:
• Writing and optimizing complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to support various business requirements.
• Designing database schemas, tables, indexes, and constraints.
• Ensuring data integrity and performance optimization through efficient database design and indexing strategies.
• Experience with Custom ETL processing using SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle built in utilities.
Application Development and Integration:
• Developing and maintaining backend components of applications that interact with Oracle databases.
• Integrating Oracle databases with other applications and data sources.
• Designing and implementing data migration scripts and processes.
SQL Skills:
• Proficiency in SQL: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, aggregations, and window functions.
• Data Analysis: Experience in using SQL for data analysis tasks such as data aggregation, trend analysis, and data mining.
• Window Functions and Analytical Functions: Proficiency in using advanced SQL features like window functions (e.g., ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), LAG()) and analytical functions (SUM() OVER(), AVG() OVER(), etc.) for complex analytical queries.
• Performance Considerations: Ability to design SQL queries that efficiently handle large datasets and complex analytical operations.
Performance Tuning Skills:
• Oracle Exadata Knowledge: Understanding of Oracle Exadata architecture
• Understanding of Data Warehousing Concepts
• Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in SQL queries, PL/SQL code, and database structures.
• Utilizing Oracle performance tuning tools and techniques to optimize database and query performance.
• Implementing indexing strategies and partitioning where appropriate.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Creating technical documentation, including specifications, user guides, and operational procedures.
Soft Skills:
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions related to SQL performance and database optimization.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, as roles often require interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Collaboration skills to work effectively with database administrators, developers, and other IT professionals.
Experience:
• 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL development and database programming.
• Experience should include working on complex projects with large databases, high volumes of Data and Bulk parallel processing.
