Job Description & Qualifications
• Infrastructure & Deployment:
– Spearhead the design, deployment, and optimization of containerized applications within an OpenShift environment.
– Handle cluster management, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalable solutions.
– Configure and manage OpenShift Container Storage (OCS)/OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for stateful workloads and data services across the platform.
– Setting up authentication methods (like LDAP etc.), defining roles and permissions using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and creating and managing user accounts.
– Configure and manage networking within the cluster such as set up service definitions, configuring networking policies, and ensuring that applications can communicate with each other both within and outside the cluster.
• Integration & Collaboration:
– Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure CI/CD pipelines are optimized for OpenShift deployments.
– Integrate service mesh solutions; experience with Istio is highly valued.
– Strong experience in building and administering Apache/Confluent Kafka messaging platform
Must be able to develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment systems using tools like Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and Helm.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
– Linux/Windows System Administration Skills including operating system installation and maintenance.
– Provide Level 3 support, diagnosing and rectifying issues within the OpenShift environment.
– Ensure system monitoring, logging, and alerting tools are properly configured.
• Security & Best Practices:
– Enforce security policies within container orchestration, ensuring applications meet regulatory and compliance standards of the retail banking sector.
– Stay updated with the latest in OpenShift and container technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
