Role: Financial System Data Analyst (Insurance & Accounting)
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Initial Remote)

Job Description:
- Financial Systems Data Analyst with strong communication skills that can perform financial analysis, financial testing, and write financial accounting system requirements.
- Strong financial/accounting background – insurance account knowledge a plus
- Must have experience performing financial analysis and reconciliation
- Is a subject matter expert who has accounting working knowledge with month and year end close, reconciled financial transactions, managed chart of accounts, general ledger & processes, and associated accounting rules.
- Must have financial reporting experience including the use of financial reporting systems
- Candidates need to be strong with data analysis, have experience with loading and processing data into a financial system, financial auditing, performing financial testing and reconciliation
- Must be able to define testing expected results in support of financial testing.
- The ideal candidate has been heavily involved in creating test cases, test scripts and executed testing working with corporate financial or corporate accounting systems
- Experience configuring financial package software is a plus
- Strong SQL query skills is a must – Oracle SQL Developer experience a plus.
- Experience with a BI reporting tool is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the implementation of accounting policy and rules to create journal debit and credit lines for various financial life cycle-based events.
- Document requirements associated with financial system enhancements or changes
- Work with technologies, tools and extract, transfer, and load technologies (Service Gateway, ETL tools)
- Work on the analysis, testing and implementation of data driven solutions involving component architectures, data warehouses, data-marts, accounting engines and sub ledgers.
- Leverage strong SQL skills, knowledge of relational databases, in the construction of queries
- Business and process analysis, including structure documentation
- Identify and resolve accounting data discrepancies.
- Design financial test scenarios, acceptance criteria, expected results and test data.
- Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in accounting desired
