POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior QA Engineer will play a key role in designing and implementing an end-to-end data quality framework, assisting the testing team with the preparation of various test plans, building, and maintaining API tests, build a quality-focused development culture, establishing QA best practices, and being the ultimate voice of quality for the end-user/product. This person will be able to use an engineered approach, to dive deep into technical product implementations, and root out the complicated bugs that lie within.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Technical Testing & Monitoring – 40%

  • Executes various testing types such as regression, isolated, exploratory, functional, end to end, and performance
  • Coordinate cross team testing efforts
  • Creating test plans in collaboration with the project team
  • Accurately tracking and documenting QA progress
  • Working closely with project teams to provide additional research/debugging of issues
  • Working with project leadership to implement quality plans, identify problems and propose resolutions
  • Evaluating the product against requirements, designs, & test cases
  • Partners with Development Team regularly to define appropriate test plans & test strategy
  • Provides guidance to QA Analyst I, and ll associates plus Test Automation Engineer, without being asked


Test Automation and Technical Maintenance – 40%

  • Develop and run automated Front end and REST APIs tests frameworks to validate functionality and performance of the software.
  • Automate test cases to achieve higher efficiency without sacrificing quality
  • Identifies software defects and testing gaps; ensures bugs and defects are fixed
  • Manage the final quality on production release
  • Document any unexpected anomalies or defects identified in testing with instruction of steps to recreate each issue
  • Working collaboratively to review and understand system requirements, and to design and review test strategies identifying resolutions for defects


Agile Practices – 20%

  • Follows Agile best practices and effectively participates in scrum ceremonies
  • Review technical design documents to identify QA requirements, to provide QA feedback and QA effort needs.
  • Provides feedback to the development team and ensures the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements
  • Working with scrum teams to create and validate acceptance criteria for product backlog items
  • Provides testing estimates and feedback to the QA manager and Scrum team for project scheduling purposes

 

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or an equivalent combination of experience and training
  • 6+ years working knowledge of QA automation frameworks for testing web applications at the UI and API level.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with front-end and back-end testing methodologies.
  • Experience with both manual as well as automated approaches, and willingness to engage in both.
  • Excellent knowledge of QA automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript framework or other scripting languages
  • Hands on experience with Playwright
  • Strong experience with SOAP and REST API.
  • Experience in Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure Portal and Azure DevOps/Git with emphasis CI/CD environments
  • Solid critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and motivate others
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

  • Working knowledge of Office 365 suite of tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, and Teams)
