 Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mendix Full Stack Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of applications using the Mendix low-code platform. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and lead the development and deployment of high-quality applications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of projects and in mentoring junior developers

PURPOSE:

Hyatt is seeking Senior Software Engineers to assist with our product development initiatives, as well as help drive new groundbreaking applications designed for Hyatt hotel associates and guests. This is an position that is ideal for someone who is skilled and passionate about front-end and/or back-end development, who is eager to fill in the gaps in their toolbox. The team is responsible for architecture, methodology, tools and processes, and delivery management for the development and support of Hyatt.com, mobile apps, and new apps created in an internal startup environment. As a member of this team, Software Engineers provide input as we partner with all business functions to help build a digital culture at Hyatt. Our team works closely with Product Development to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles in an agile environment. They also collaborate with the Operations team to build infrastructure and care for Hyatt.com and associated properties in production, as Tier 3 support. They apply DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to production early and often, with highly automated and reliable procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze requirements, Develop front-end software.

• Develop back-end software.

• Develop automated tests.

• Develop automated deployment process.

• Provide Tier 3 production support.

• Participate in architecture reviews and technology standards definition.

• Practice mentorship skills with more-junior developers, often receiving guidance from more experienced mentors.

• Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years of experience in a full-time development role.

• Previous experience as a tech lead or team lead, mentoring junior developers.

• Experience in Java, Ruby on Rails, Adobe CQ5 and DAM, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, Jenkins, Cloud Foundry, OpenStack, and Selenium.

• Skilled, passionate about development, and eager to expand their influence in surrounding areas.

• Software craftsman who values quality over quantity.

• Experience with like Agile.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Strong Agile experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

B.S. preferred in Computer Science or related discipline such as Software Engineering, Architecture or Technical Operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and implement both front-end and back-end components of Mendix applications.

· Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders, designers to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.

· Architecture and Design: Create robust, scalable, and maintainable application architectures and designs.

· Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and performance of applications through comprehensive testing, debugging, and code reviews.

· Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of application design, development processes, and user manuals.

· Integration: Customize and extend Mendix functionality using widgets, microflows, JavaScript actions and third-party services using APIs.

· DevOps: Participate in the continuous deployment through Mendix cloud to streamline application delivery.

· Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest Mendix features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.

· Project Management: Participate in project planning, estimation, and execution to ensure timely delivery of solutions.

· Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

 

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with the Mendix platform.

·

 Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Mendix development through Studio Pro and deployment processes.

o Strong experience in OOPS, Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Model-Driven Development, and database systems (Postgress SQL, NoSQL)

o Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XPath, React, Angular).

o Knowledge of integration techniques and tools (REST/SOAP APIs, Web Services).

o Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).

o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

o Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior developers.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Minimum Rapid Developer Certification Mandatory

· Mendix Advanced Developer Certification good to have.

· Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

· Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.

· Experience with mobile application development.
