Venmo was founded on the principles of breaking down the intimidating barriers around financial transactions to make them intuitive, friendly, and even fun. And it worked: people love sending money with Venmo, and we?re growing by leaps and bounds! But we?re only just getting started. We want to take that magic of sending money with Venmo and cascade it into every place where people use money. That means connecting people to their money in the most intuitive and fun way possible, then connecting people with each other. Users already love Venmo, but we know there are lots of things we haven?t thought of to make the experience of using Venmo even more delightful and valuable. We spend our days scaling our infrastructure and building new features to meet and exceed our users? needs and wants. Performance Engineering at Venmo Performance quality is at the heart of Venmo?s success. The performance engineering team works to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our platform. We do this by analyzing and optimizing the performance of our applications and platform. We rigorously stress/load test product and platform changes before we make them available to Venmo customers in the production environment. We also prepare our platform to scale seamlessly for high seasonal traffic on regular basis. We cover details from infrastructure, applications to databases and fine tune our systems.Venmo performance engineering team collaborates with multiple engineering and platform teams to deliver on the best customer experience for Venmo customers.What You?ll DoDevelop and use performance testing framework(s) and performance test-cases to simulate production workloadsConduct performance testing and benchmarking of software applications to identify bottlenecks and areas for optimizationPrepare Venmo?s production system to scale for high velocity events for the seasonal trafficWork with development teams to optimize the performance of software, including improving scalability, response time, throughput, and resource utilizationBuild performance-as-a-service to scale operationsMaintain complex performance test environment with mix of monolith and micro-service deploymentsAutomate components/applications deployments for the perform
