Job Title: Quality Assurance Automation Analyst
Location:  St. Paul, MN-Hybrid
Position Type: Contract
Note: Position will be hybrid – 2 days a week onsite and 3 days working from home. Candidates MUST be local at time of submission. Hiring manager is not currently interested in candidates who will need to relocate to accept offer.
 
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Analyst to join our team under the MNSITE 2.0 Staff Augmentation Event. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating and executing both manual and automated test cases from scratch. This role involves working closely with business and technology teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications. The candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle, focusing on testing web-based applications, services, and database systems using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
 
Key Responsibilities
Review & Analysis:
Participate in formal reviews of business and functional requirements as well as application design.
Analyze and report on overall test status and results.
Test Planning & Design:
Prepare detailed Test Plans, including determining the types of testing to be implemented.
Design and document comprehensive test cases.
Identify and communicate test requirements and prepare test data.
Test Execution:
Execute both manual and automated test cases.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve test failures.
Report and log defects found during test execution.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with business customers and technology staff to provide technical leadership in planning, designing, and executing tests.
Provide regular updates on overall test status, results, and defect resolution.
Perform additional testing tasks as required by the project.
Ensure effective knowledge transfer within the team.
Desired Skills and Experience
Quality Assurance Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience in creating and executing manual and automated test cases/scripts from scratch.
Methodologies & Frameworks:
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
Proficiency with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and SoapUI.
Technical Expertise:
Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages, software development technologies, and diverse database platforms.
Extensive experience with DevOps tools like Jira/Xray, Selenium, GitLab, and Octopus Deploy for continuous integration and deployment.
Experience in testing web-based forms, content, interactive solutions, web services (SOAP/REST), and database systems.
Specialized Testing:
Experience with security, accessibility, performance, and stress testing.

Communication & Collaboration:
Ability to communicate clearly and translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in collaborative teams and establishing effective working relationships.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Systems.
Experience as a member of an Agile Scrum development team.
