Job Description:

The Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for researching, planning, and implementing Enterprise Solutions, including networking and software technologies that support critical life safety systems. This role focuses on ensuring optimal system performance, cybersecurity compliance, and maintaining network and software infrastructure for the Transportation Operations Center. The candidate should have 6-10 years of hands-on experience with networking, possess a 4-year degree (preferably in computer science or a related field), and/or hold industry certifications.

The Infrastructure Architect will independently and collaboratively manage medium-complexity work efforts, provide technical support, design network solutions, and ensure the integrity and security of networking systems. The position offers an excellent opportunity for long-term professional growth.

 

Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, and install enterprise solutions comprising networking and software technologies.
• Assess existing network and software solutions, making recommendations based on cybersecurity best practices.
• Configure network hardware and software, provide user training, and document solutions for ongoing support.
• Respond to Tier 1 and 2 network and software support requests.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Respond to and resolve break/fix requests for network resources.
• Design extensions and connections to the campus network.
• Assist with the configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware.
• Maintain up-to-date project, architecture, inventory, and maintenance records.
• Monitor network resources for faults and anomalies.
• Support efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses.
• Provide technical support to ITS Field Maintenance and assist in threat mitigation efforts.
• Manage time effectively and handle resource constraints.

• Experience with network security, monitoring tools, and cybersecurity threat mitigation.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Occasional travel may be required.
