Role: Sr. Network Security Engineer
Location: HYBRID; Rockville, MD 20852 – must be willing to work onsite 2x/week + able to work after hours/weekends during maintenance windows as needed

About the role: Looking for Network Firewall Engineers in preparation for a large new program to support Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). These roles will support a critical mission for HRSA; maintaining Hosting, Networking, Security, Server, Identity and Access Management, and Tier II Operations in support of the HRSA mission in a 24x7x365 environment.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of network security engineering experience – troubleshooting and upgrading Cisco ASA 5500 and/or Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Including experience with Cisco Firepower and/or Palo Alto Panorama – highly preferred!
• Hands-on experience with Citrix NetScaler – troubleshooting, code upgrades, networking protocols, etc.
• Experience in a Cisco ISE environment (Identity Services Engine)
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust, Tier 2 clearance
• Excellent communication skills with self-starter, initiative taking mentality – ability to work later hours if needed for maintenance

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting HHS or NIH programs for the government
• Azure Cloud Networking experience
• SolarWinds automation scripting experience

Responsibilities:  

• Network Engineering, Administration, Patch Management, Vulnerability Remediation, Security Compliance, Performance Monitoring/Tuning
• 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support serving in on-call rotation, Hybrid Environment (Azure and on-prem)
• Working within team for successful completion of all tasks within the Statement of Work for assigned area of responsibility within server, storage, backup operations
• Will review monitoring tools to identify trends and proactive identification of potential customer impacting events
• Recommending changes to processes or procedures to improve efficiency or reduce costs in future projects.
