Role: Network Administration
Location: Hybrid Logan, Utah (1-2 days onsite)
Visa: GC and USC
Duration: 6 months

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Administration:
- Design, implement, and manage the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure access controls
- .Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support business growth and technological advancements.
- Regularly update firewall rules and configurations to reflect current security policies and organizational needs.
- Conduct periodic audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and rectify security gaps.
- Implement intrusion detection and prevention systems to monitor and respond to suspicious activities.
- Ensure that firewalls and other security devices have the latest firmware and patches applied.
- Segment the network using VLANs and other techniques to limit potential damage from security breaches.
- Enforce strict access controls and multi-factor authentication for network and firewall management interfaces.
- Review & remove obsolete rules & configurations to minimize attack surfaces & potential entry points for cyber threats.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall policies, changes, and incident responses for accountability and future reference.
- Conduct routine failover tests for business-critical systems and hardware.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance.
Telecommunications Administration:
- Manage and support our client’s telecommunications systems as well as ISPs and redundancies.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of telecommunication services to meet business needs.
- Monitor and manage telecommunication expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Where possible, reduce on-prem telco hardware and increase the use of softphones.
- Coordinate with telecommunication service providers for installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and enforce telecommunications policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to identify and address network and telecommunications needs and challenges.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in networking and telecommunications technologies.
- Liaise with and manage vendors for the procurement of new technologies, oversee installation and implementation, and resolve issues.
- Report metrics to management demonstrating a quantitative and qualitative understanding of IT Operations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in network and telecommunications administration
- Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls would be a definite plus.
- Experience with telecommunication systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are highly desirable).
- Exceptional knowledge of ITSM, ITIL methodology, and IT service delivery using a variety of applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
