Client – Best Egg (Mortgage Domain) 

Role: Senior Backend Engineer/Feature Engineer

Duration: This could go multi year

Location: Philadelphia PA or Wilmington DE 

Nature of job:

Submit candidates who can go 2 days onsite in Philadelphia PA or Wilmington DE.

Note: If someone is really strong, great fit and from EST/CST, then this can be done 100% remote

Required Skills:

• Extensive Experience in Backend Development: Expertise in Python, FastAPI (or similar), and a deep understanding of building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
• Advanced Python Skills: Proficiency in Python parallelism and concurrency (asyncio, threading, multiprocessing), and experience in designing scalable Python libraries.
• Proficiency in Data Engineering: Strong experience with SQL, data modeling, and working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks
• Experience with Distributed Computing: Familiarity with technologies like Ray, PySpark, Kafka, or Kinesis, and an understanding of the trade-oBs involved in distributed system design. 
• Hands-on DevOps Expertise: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Proven Track Record in Performance Optimization: Demonstrated ability to develop high performance systems, with experience in optimizing APIs and data processing pipelines. 
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and provide innovative solutions to technical challenges

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Enhance Platform Features: Design, implement, and optimize new features and components of our enterprise feature platform, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and other platform users to understand their needs and build tooling that enhances their workflows and productivity. 
• Focus on Developer Experience: Create high-quality libraries and abstractions that simplify complex tasks, are well-documented, promote best practices, and enhance the overall developer experience. 
• Maintain and Improve System Performance: Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues at scale, ensuring high availability and performance of the platform.
• Drive Innovation in Data Infrastructure: Spearhead initiatives to improve feature engineering and data processing pipelines, mentoring platform users on best practices.
• Implement Best Practices in Software Engineering: Apply principles of OOP, SOLID design, and automated testing to ensure clean, maintainable, and robust code.
