Role: Certified Workday HCM Payroll Senior Consultant
Location: with 15-20% travel to client site (open to work in West Coast Time Zone)
Duration: Long term
We are seeking a Workday HCM Payroll Senior Consultant to support the core HCM And Payroll workstreams for a retail customer undergoing a Phase 1 Workday deployment.
Must Have Skills
Skill 1 – Workday HCM Yrs of Exp – 5+
Skill 2 – Payroll Yrs of Exp – 5+
Certifications – Yes, active Workday HCM Pro or Implementation Certification preferred in Workday HCM and Payroll
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Workday HCM and Payroll Subject Matter Expert with deep knowledge of related system functionality and capabilities including business processes and security.
- Actively participate in design, planning, implementation and support of business process configuration, security, and testing
- Identify opportunities to optimize and enhance business processes, practices, and configuration with the move from legacy system (AS400 Infor) to Workday
- Evaluate, communicate, and coordinate the technical impacts of configuration decisions, providing detailed analysis when necessary.
- Partner with stakeholders (internal and external) across HCM And Payroll Workday modules
- Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate to management.
- Educate users on the use and features/functionality of Workday.
- Participate in Workday upgrade preparation and release activities, including feature review, impact analysis, regression testing, education, and updates to training materials.
Qualifications:
- Have been part of at least 2 end-to-end Workday deployments with a good understanding of customer side challenges and readiness for go-live.
- 4+ years’ Workday HCM and Payroll design, configuration, and testing experience.
- Workday Pro or Implementation Certification preferred in Workday HCM and Payroll
- Experience with payroll data conversion from legacy systems (AS400 Infor)
- Ideally also have a good understanding of Workday Absence, Time tracking and Payroll inputs (EIBs etc).
- Advanced Excel skills and understanding of Workday deployment methodology around Payroll parallel testing and cutover.
- Strong communications and organizational stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively manage change/escalations during a Workday deployment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
