The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst 2 to support Java-based application development projects within the Licensing Services division. This role will focus on the facilitation and creation of Agile development artifacts, requirements analysis, and team support to ensure efficient and successful project delivery.

All deliverables and work products resulting from this engagement will be considered “works made for hire” and will become the property of DPS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing Licensing Services initiatives by identifying, gathering, and refining Agile development artifacts, including Themes, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Decompose and translate existing requirement documentation into actionable Agile items.
- Educate and guide development teams on Agile methodologies and artifact creation processes.
- Facilitate estimation sessions for story point allocation to support predictive work effort modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, quality assurance, and product management to drive project success.
- Maintain thorough documentation of business processes, technical requirements, and user needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working as a Senior Business Analyst in a technical or software development environment, with at least seven years of hands-on involvement.
- A minimum of two years of experience applying Agile methodologies within software development projects.
- Familiarity with use case development, with at least one year of practical exposure preferred.
- Experience in process documentation, with at least one year of hands-on application preferred.
