Role: MySQL DBA
Location: Phoenix, AZ (5 Days onsite)
Client: Virtusa/ AMEX
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases for high performance, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune database performance, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
- Data Security: Implement data encryption, access controls, and other security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Backup & Recovery: Set up robust backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Automation: Automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools for efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work with development and IT teams to support application and infrastructure needs.
Required Skills:
- MySQL: Strong expertise in MySQL administration, including version upgrades, replication, and clustering.
- Database Tuning: Proficiency in tuning databases for optimal performance.
- Backup & Recovery: Experience with backup and recovery tools and processes.
- Scripting: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation.
- Security: Familiarity with database security protocols and best practices.
