Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA 92127 (Day 1 Onsite)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Senior Network Engineer managing LAN and WLAN Refreshes at production sites including offices and office campuses.
- Responsible for: pre-deployment site walk-throughs, confirming devices & device counts, planning the refresh deployment, putting in & seeking approval for Change Records, configuring new devices, producing the cable matrix, implementing the change, QA, any required troubleshooting, documenting the new site topology in our shared repository.
- Must have recent experience with related work, at a Senior Network Engineer level.
- Must be able to work independently across numerous network disciplines.
JOB SPECIFICS:
- Primarily replacing network switches (mainly Cisco, Juniper, Foundry, and Brocade) with new Aruba switches, and Aruba APs (access points).
- This team member must be on-site during each implementation, and running all aspects of the change.
- The job specifics may change as company requirements change. Team member should be adaptable and willing to work on related Network Engineering projects.
- Little to no physical work will be required. There is a separate team responsible for handling the equipment in the network racks, including cable management.
- Responsible for entering change records in Service Now, and supporting their approval in CAB meetings.
- Required to provide any and all troubleshooting to run a successful change, or ensure there is a proper roll-back.
- Providing documentation including as-built configs, and topology diagram of each location with the new design.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Network engineering, LAN, WLAN, Aruba experience, WLAN Access Points, Aruba switches, Cisco switches, Juniper routers, Aruba Air Monitors, Aruba AP Controller, Troubleshooting, Network Diagrams, ServiceNow, Layer 2 topologies, Layer 3 topologies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent applicable experience).
- 9+ years’ relevant production network experience in network planning, design and implementation. This will be considered in lieu of above qualifications.
- Active Aruba certifications preferred but not required.
- Active Cisco certifications preferred but not required.
- Strong team player able to communicate clearly
- Willing to work in a team environment with multiple peers, project managers, change management boards, etc.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
- Ability to multitask with multiple different projects and sites
- Troubleshooting LAN networks, including ability to troubleshoot Layer 3 routing issues.
