The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) is seeking a talented and results-oriented Data Solutions Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision making across the agency by implementing data governance and data analytics solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

- Assist in the implementation of the ODA data strategy, focusing on the execution of data governance frameworks and process. This includes activities such as data intake, data management, data definition, data classification, data prioritization, and the development of data ecosystem to ensure data quality, security, accessibility, and interoperability.
- Assist the CDO and Data Manager in converting business challenges into data analysis initiatives. This involves overseeing the development of database structures, conducting data lifecycle analysis, data extraction, and data mining, and utilizing these insights in both traditional extracts and advanced data visualization tools.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and define data requirements critical for informed decision-making. This involves engaging with various stakeholders to ensure seamless data exchange and integration with the Innovate Ohio platform.
- Develop and implement a data quality monitoring strategy to proactively identify, assess, and remediate data inconsistencies and errors across the ODA’s data ecosystem.
Develop data-related processes and governance documentation to support the ODA’s data strategy. This includes creating guidelines and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
Mandatory Requirements/Time

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data analytics, data governance, or a similar role.
Strong hands-on experience in project management.

- Strong communication skills to effectively convey materials, decisions, and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in implementing data governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation tools.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
