Job Description:

We have partnered with a global leader in secure financial messaging to identify a Junior Secure Coding Practices Engineer with a strong ON PREMISE development and security background. This role is focused on integrating security into all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from design to deployment — in a strictly non-cloud (on prem) environment.

If you’re a passionate coder with security top of mind and hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools and techniques — and prefer working in on-premise infrastructures — this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement on-premise security solutions within the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to embed security practices across all stages of SDLC.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with a security-first approach using Jenkins Cloudbees CI.
• Automate security and compliance tasks using Python, Groovy, or Bash.
• Integrate and maintain tools for:
  • Static Application Security Testing (SAST) – Coverity
  • Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)
  • Open-source dependency scanning – Nexus IQ
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and Webhooks for cross-system integrations.
  • Provide internal guidance on secure coding standards, encouraging a strong culture of application security.

Required Skills & Tools

• ON-PREM DevSecOps Engineering – strictly non-cloud environments
• Secure Coding using Python and Groovy
• Experience with:
  • Coverity (Code Scanning / SAST)
  • Jenkins Cloudbees CI
  • Nexus IQ (Open Source Software Scanning)
  • REST APIs and Webhooks
  • Ansible, Bash Scripting
• Familiarity with containerized environments:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • RedHat OpenShift

Note: Candidates with strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, etc.) are not a good fit for this role. The hiring manager is focused strictly on on-premise expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in secure software development or DevSecOps engineering (on-prem environments).
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles and scripting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with an eye for detail and security vulnerabilities.
