Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Monitoring Tools Administrator to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and enhancement of network monitoring tools in a large-scale, global enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network fundamentals, SNMP/NetFlow data, and be proactive in automating technical tasks and improving system performance.
Candidates need to have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering network monitoring tools in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, BGP, etc.
- Proficiency with SNMP, NetFlow, and trap-based monitoring.
- Solid Linux experience (RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Experience with ServiceNow and IT Event Management solutions.
- Proven ability to automate routine technical tasks using scripting or tools.
Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge):
- Experience with Broadcom/CA tools: Spectrum, Performance Management, Network Flow Analysis.
- Familiarity with Riverbed tools: NetIM and NetProfiler.
- Experience with IBM SevOne NPM.
- REST API scripting experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA).
- ITIL certification.
- Experience in the airline industry and associated technologies.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project lifecycles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain network monitoring tools, including discovery, installation, upgrades, and patch management.
- Configure telemetry and data collection for network devices across data centers, corporate offices, airports, call centers, and remote locations.
- Lead the migration of existing network monitoring telemetry to new platforms, ensuring continuity and improvement of capabilities.
- Troubleshoot SNMP/NetFlow data collection and trap configurations, and implement dashboards and alerts to monitor network health.
- Maintain accurate documentation and diagrams of the network monitoring infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on various technical projects.
- Utilize ServiceNow and Event Management solutions to support operational processes.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in network performance monitoring.
