Job Description:
The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is statutorily responsible for statewide financial reporting. The SAO also provides enterprise oversight and management of the State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, accounting policy development, financial business process improvement recommendations, and management of the payroll and accounting shared service centers. Local candidates strongly preferred.
Position Description:
Under broad supervision, performs medium to complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
•Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
•Serves as subject matter expert or organization resource for assigned projects
•Assists in the development of standards and procedures used in the implementation or enhancement of systems
•Consults with functional and technical staff to ensure that functionality of automated systems meets user requirements
•Documents business processes for users
•Schedules, facilitates and records meetings and meeting outcomes
•May develop and deliver training as needed
•Serve as liaison between functional and technical teams in the implementation or enhancement of systemsProvides end user support as needed to troubleshoot issues
Skills and Competencies:
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Ability to guide discussions to capture business requirements and offer solutions
•Capable of interpreting business insights to develop technical solutions
•Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and work collaboratively to develop recommendations
•Ability to determine priorities and effectively manage time
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:
•Experience with state or public sector organizations
•Experience with large scale business transformation projects
•Highly organized, proactive, self-starter
