Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Linux System Administrator to join our IT team. The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, ensuring system performance, security, and reliability. You will also troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, and work on automation tasks to improve system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers: Manage the deployment of new systems and maintain existing servers.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues: Ensure systems are running smoothly and address performance issues in a timely manner.
- Manage system security: Implement and maintain security policies, perform regular updates and patch management, and ensure system security standards.
- System backups and recovery: Schedule and manage regular system backups, and ensure proper recovery processes are in place for disaster recovery.
- Automation and scripting: Write and maintain scripts to automate routine system tasks and improve efficiency using bash, Python, or other relevant languages.
- User support: Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, helping resolve system-related issues.
- Manage user accounts and permissions: Create and manage user roles, groups, and permissions on Linux systems.
- Perform system updates and patch management: Apply necessary updates, patches, and system upgrades to ensure system stability and security.
- Configure and manage network services: Set up and manage services like DNS, DHCP, Apache, Nginx, and FTP on Linux servers.
- Collaborate with development teams: Work closely with developers to ensure the smooth deployment of applications in production environments.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies for auditing and future reference.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
