Job Title: Lead DataDog Systems Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Tax Terms: C2C
Duration: 12 Months
Work Authorization: USC, GC, GC-EAD, H4
End Client: Care First (Working with Prime Vendor)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer monitoring tools, with a focus on DataDog on Linux (Red Hat).
- Instrument Java-based applications on Tomcat Application Server.
- Configure Infrastructure Monitoring, Network Monitoring, and Centralized Logging.
- Work with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for monitoring and analytics.
- Automate monitoring tasks using Python, Shell, Ansible scripting.
- Manage SSL setup and CA certs on Linux servers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems, including networks, switches, routers, and load balancers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5-8 years of IT experience, with hands-on experience in monitoring tools (DataDog, ELK Stack).
- Strong background in Linux/Unix and Windows systems, VMWare, SQL Server.
- 3+ years of DataDog administration or similar tools (e.g., ELK Stack).
- Expertise in scripting (Python, Shell) and SSL encryption.
- Experience in monitoring large-scale environments and troubleshooting Java applications.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies (SAFe) and SDLC.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with network components (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, F5 Load Balancers).
- Exposure to Big Panda or CloudBeat for synthetic monitoring.
Education:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
