Salesforce CPQ Implementation Architect

Location: Itasca, IL – Onsite from Day 1

Position: Long Term

Exp.: 10+ Yrs.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce CPQ Implementation Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of Salesforce CPQ solutions. This individual will play a critical role in transforming quoting, pricing, and billing processes by delivering scalable and high-performing CPQ solutions tailored to business needs. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Salesforce CPQ (formerly SteelBrick), extensive experience in enterprise CRM implementations, and strong collaboration skills across business and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Salesforce CPQ solutions.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable CPQ configurations and customizations.
• Define technical architecture including data models, integration patterns, and system workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales Ops, Finance, Product Management, Legal, etc.) to define solution roadmaps and priorities.
• Configure advanced CPQ capabilities: product rules, pricing methods, quote templates, discounting logic, approval workflows, and guided selling.
• Design and implement integrations with ERP, billing systems, CLM, and other back-office systems.
• Establish governance for CPQ data integrity, catalog management, and pricing accuracy.
• Lead system testing, performance tuning, and deployment activities.
• Provide guidance to developers and admins; conduct code reviews and ensure best practices.
• Support user enablement, documentation, and post-go-live support.
• Stay current on Salesforce releases and CPQ best practices to drive innovation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of Salesforce experience with 5+ years specific to Salesforce CPQ.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce CPQ product catalog design, pricing methods, discounting strategies, rules engine, and quote-to-cash processes.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, and Flow Builder.
• Proven track record of designing scalable CPQ architectures in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with multi-currency, multi-language, and multi-org Salesforce implementations.
• Integration experience with ERP (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle), middleware (e.g., MuleSoft), and CLM or billing systems.
• Salesforce CPQ Specialist Certification is required; Salesforce Architect or System Architect certifications are a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Revenue Cloud, Billing, or CLM integrations (e.g., Conga, DocuSign).
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of data security, compliance (SOX, GDPR), and governance in SaaS environments.
• Experience in subscription-based or usage-based pricing models.
