Job Description:
Position & Project Background: The Child Support Enforcement (CSE or IV-D) Program is a joint Federal & State effort to help families establish paternity (when necessary), obtain orders for payment of child support, and secure compliance with child support court orders. Alabama's Location, Enforcement, and Collection System (ALECS) is the major Child Support Enforcement system for Alabama. The system handles all child support collections and distributions and shares information with other state systems.
Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance/Quality Control Analyst who has experience in testing large-scale software solutions to work on projects of moderate to high complexity for the ALECS system. The QA/QC Analyst will work with multiple development environments and may work on multiple programs/systems as a project team member. They will be expected to become a subject matter expert for the ALECS system.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual testing of applications, create and maintain test data, and document test results to ensure that changes to systems accurately meet technical and functional requirements.
- Review methodology documentation for accuracy, completeness and quality so that new systems and changes to existing systems are completed accurately and in accordance with defined standards.
- Design, develop, and document test plans and test scripts so that accurate test documentation exists for all assigned applications.
- Work closely with all levels of DHR (Department of Human Resources), Vendor and Partner Agency staff to share information and provide support so that system integrity is maintained, risk factors to applications are addressed, and users are able to perform their testing activities in a controlled test environment.
- Provide and model positive, professional, and courteous customer service to DHR employees, other agencies, vendors, contractors, and the general public by sharing job knowledge and responding to requests for information/service in a timely, efficient, competent manner so that issues are resolved according to prescribed timeframes and specifications.
- Communicate, both orally and in writing, with Division staff, supervisors, County/Division Directors, department employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public so that correct information is provided in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

- 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and design documents to design, create, and implement Test Plans, Test Strategies, and Test Scripts
- 5+ years of experience reading code to understand processing and data structures
- 5+ years of experience partnering with technical team members and other project stakeholders to develop Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Scenarios
- 5+ years of experience analyzing test results
- 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining test documentation and test reports

- Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of 5 years of experience in testing mainframe applications. (Or) High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in testing mainframe applications.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quality Management, Information Technology, or Computer Science
Additional Information
- Position is in Montgomery, Alabama
- Candidate must work onsite at the DHR facility in Montgomery
- No telecommuting or work from home is allowed
- Candidate will not receive any travel expense reimbursement from DHR
- Candidate must be available for an interview either in person (preferred) or via Skype if in-person interview is not practical
- This is projected to be a long-term contract, with potential renewal every fiscal year.
