Duration: 6+ months contract

Candidates must be located in VA, N.VA, MD, DC, PA or NC.

This is a hybrid role and candidates will be required to travel to client office located in Reston, VA at least once a month. Prefer candidates that are eligible for direct employment. This position is not open to sponsorship,

Job Description:

Performs complex analysis, design, development, automated unit and integration testing, and debugging of computer software ranging from operating system architecture integration and software design to selection of computer systems, language, and/or equipment. Designs, codes, tests, develops, and documents application programs for computer systems. Works with end-users and project stakeholders to define system scope and objectives. Manages modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures. Leads stakeholder and product owner meetings to define software requirements and creates highly complex systems. Will serve as a mentor to junior team engineers.

Required Skills:

5+ years actively Providing Java Production support
Candidate must have deep knowledge/experience in using various requirements analysis techniques such as:
Minimum of 5 years in extensive hands on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Angular, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, JMX, JMS, Log4J, AJAX, JSF.
Wide breadth of knowledge across many Java Open-Source technologies including Ant, Struts, Spring Boot, XML parser technology, SOA based infrastructure, jUnit and HTTPUnit.
Strong technical leadership skills
Application Log Monitoring and automation of alerts
Experience with shell scripts will be an additional plus Application Log Monitoring and automation of alerts

Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to:
o Conduct walkthroughs with internal and external teams.
o Elicit requirements
o Produce business functional requirements documents, user interface specifications, use cases, and/or data dictionaries
Knowledge of or skills to perform data analytics, e.g., knowledge of basic SQL queries
Candidate must have knowledge of and experience in leading requirements development work
Excellent experience with object-oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology
Wide breath knowledge of J2EE applications servers (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, etc )
Previous experience with Workflow and Rules Engines
Excellent application performance tuning and trouble shooting skills
Experience with RDBMS (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL)
Experience with object-oriented analysis and design
