Position: Java Lead with RX java exp mandatory
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Bay Area locals highly preferred)
Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week)
Experience Level: 12+ years
Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable RESTful APIs using Java.
- Hands-on development using RxJava – this is mandatory for the role.
- Build and maintain integrations with Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, and distributed caching systems.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud-native applications on Azure or GCP PaaS services.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and responsiveness of applications.
- Guide and mentor junior developers while remaining actively involved in development tasks.
Required Skills:
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend systems.
- Strong expertise in Java, especially in building REST APIs.
- Hands-on RxJava experience is required – this is a deal-breaker.
- Proficiency with Kafka, Apache Spark, Cassandra, and distributed caches.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native development on Azure or GCP.
- Experience working in distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Interview Process:
- 2 Rounds Total
- 1 round will be a live coding assessment – candidates must demonstrate strong hands-on coding skills.
