Job Description
• Support initiatives that deliver workable end to end infrastructure solutions.
• Participate in test planning and execution.
• Design, build, enhance and integrate the infrastructure required to support various platforms and our business portfolio.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tickets during implementation of infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve first level network and wireless issues.
• Present recommendations for resolving ticket requests and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of the process, policies, and risk controls.
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
• Interact with internal customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Responsible for Distributed Systems Engineering – Systems Delivery and Infrastructure Provisioning.
• Manage, coordinate, and perform various tasks relating to deploying servers (physical and/or virtual) and operating systems to Data Center and remote locations within the Wells Fargo Domestic Footprint.
• This includes but is not limited to new server installations, including hardware, operating systems, cabling, and network port turn-ups.
• Works with various internal and external partners to ensure tasks are completed within the designated time frame and making sure any issues are logged and tracked to resolution.
• Provide on-call support for new installation break/fix

 
Job Qualification
Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
• Provides technical consultation and support associated with operating systems.
• Provides complex analysis of systems software and hardware requirements to determine operating systems specifications and customizations.
• May design sub systems and system integrations.
• Provides the strategy and design to build a utility for systems programming tasks required for installations, configurations, upgrades, and testing.
• Develops new documentation, participates in the development of departmental technical procedures and designs user support guides.
• Consults with management and recommends process and procedure improvements.
• As an escalation point for operating system support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems.
• Leads projects, including assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
• Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

• Combination of Technical Project Manager, Operating System Engineer
• Understand Windows 2019/2022 (Install and configuration)
• Understand Linux 8.x/9.x (Install and configuration)
• Scripting and/or Task Automation skills in a Plus
• Strong knowledge of Physical servers
• Strong knowledge of Virtual Servers in a VMWare Environment
• Knowledge of Ansible
• Understanding of Networking (how server connects and talks to network switches)
• Working knowledge of Data Centers (How servers get rack and cabled) is a plus.
